Good morning families of Capital Christian School and Sonshine Christian Day Care,
Per the Governor's instructions, school will be closed next week through April 1st. However, we are continuing to have school in a different manner. Our teachers have been preparing for this possibility. Teachers will be providing materials and instruction outside of the week of Spring Break. They will be sending schoolwork home for their students today. This may be in several forms: text books, packets, or Google Classroom assignments. The teachers will be emailing families daily. I have asked that all contact go through either parent accounts (email, text), or through Google Classroom. I have asked that no contact be done through student text or personal email accounts. We are still working, though not in the school building. Teachers can be emailed at any time in the school day with questions, requests for clarification, etc. You are welcome to take a picture of your child's work and send it to his/her teacher for feedback through this time (handing in work to be corrected). Please be patient as this is as new for school people as it is for families. It may take us a bit of time to make it smooth.
Day Care will be open 7:15-5:45 unless the Governor mandates closure. If you have already signed up for day care, your place is secure. If you need day care and haven't already signed up, you may call the office to see if room is available.
This particular season has been one of big change and if you only pay attention to news, of uncertainty. However, our God is an AWESOME God. He has great plans and He is in control of all. I feel that he is sharpening us and we are all growing as a result. I am so very thankful to be sharpened with all of you. I cannot think of a more wonderful community than this one where God has graciously placed me. Thank you for your children, thank you for your family, and for your faith in our Lord Jesus. As we are entering this new phase, I am sure more changes will be ahead. We will continue to follow the direction of God as well as the authorities that he has placed in our leadership positions.
We will continue to update you as we learn more and receive other direction from the CDC and our state government. I am in frequent contact with Pastor Mark and want you to know that the school is held very closely to his heart and the heart of our church here at Salem First Baptist. Please take care of yourselves, find time to relax and do nothing, enjoy those precious children that God has given you. Please feel free to contact me any time with any questions, comments, or concerns that you have. I thank God often for all of you and you are all in my prayers of thanksgiving and protection..
May God bless each of you richly,
Principal of Capital Christian School
